About Momease
Momease Mission Statement
Momease Mission is to provide new parents with evidence-based parent education classes that will enable them to prepare for the excitement and alleviate some of the fear of becoming a parent.
Our products and parent education classes are developed by industry experts and reviewed by our medical advisory board, using the most recent evidence-based and expert curriculum to create informational resources and recommend the essential products for new parents.
Founded in 2004 and based in Alexandria, Va., the company has a board of medical advisors, certified childbirth educators, and lactation consultants to ensure its products and services’ accuracy and high quality. Momease has provided several benefits to satisfied corporate clients.
Parent Educator Services worked with hospital administrators and labor and delivery staff to teach childbirth classes, baby-care basics and other prenatal classes for many hospitals and birth centers in Washington DC Metro Area:

Carolyn Alexander
Carolyn is a Breastfeeding Basics Instructor, ICEA Childbirth Educator and Labor Doula for the past 15 years. I have attending over 528 births and have provided Childbirth classes to over 3000 couples in my Doula and Childbirth career.
Vanessa Hanible
My experience working with women dealing with domestic and sexual violence allowed me to see the importance of educating and empowering women throughout many stages of life.
Abiana Patton-Toure
She originally started as a student, shadowing births with Carolyn Alexander. Abiana Patton-Toure is a D.C native, who has been practicing as a doula with Momeone 35+ births on her own. Her passion for reproductive health and empowering autonomy during pregnancy and birth has led her to pursue her Bachelor’s of Science in Midwifery at Midwives College of Utah
Akilah Witherspoon
I provide prenatal, labor, and postpartum support and bring a unique set of skills and experience to my work. I started my journey as a birth worker in 2016, after successfully completing the Perinatal Community Health Worker Training Program with Mamatoto Village in Washington DC.
Janna Martin
In 2008, I participated in a Doulas of North America (DONA) doula training. I completed my certification process in 2009 and have attended 40 plus and counting births. I would only take a few doula clients a year due to my large family and my desire to never miss their birth.
Shante Ferguson
When I’m supporting families through my doula work, breastfeeding assistance, or placenta encapsulation it is a feeling that I can only describe as genuine happiness and not just for me but for whomever I am supporting because I know that I am giving them my all.
Jennifer Zeitler
I am the mother of seven amazing humans and Mom-mom to two sweet grandsons. My journey into birth work was rooted in my own unique experiences with my seven pregnancies, labors, and births.
Antwanette Summers
My passion is volunteering my time within the community with organizations such as CASA, Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center, and The Rainbow House, just to name a few. Helping those in need of my services is something that I am committed to providing. I believe I have led to coach other women on a positive birth journey. I desire to provide physical and emotional support based on each family’s values.

Our History
Sibley Memorial Hospital (2006–2010)
Sibley Memorial Hospital – For several years (2006–2010), Momease instructors worked as childbirth educators, teaching a variety of Sibley prenatal classes. We worked with the director of parent education and other staff members to redesign their curriculum to use InJoy Birth and Parenting Education materials.
