Planned C-section

Staff will contact you via email within 72 hrs. to confirm and begin coordinating interviews. You will have the option to interview with our labor doulas and choose a primary doula and a backup doula.

The doula will provide one prenatal visit to discuss your concerns about the C-section. The labor doula will meet you at the hospital within 30 minutes of C-section time to provide emotional and physical support for you and your partner.

The doula will remain with you throughout C-section process and assist you with breastfeeding. She will stay a maximum of two hours after the birth to provide other emotional, physical or informational support that you may need.

The doula will provide a 4-hour postpartum visit at home.

The doula will provide the new Mom with some much-needed self-care. With the assistance of her doula, Mom will learn common methods for caring for the perineal area or C-section scar, as well as learning to cope with breast discomfort associated with nursing and increased milk supply. Your doula will assess you for signs of postpartum depression and will recommend local services and resources that will ease your transition to parenthood.
